Latin Students Rock their Common Cultural Final

Thanks to a project designed by a master Latin teacher, as well as a variety of Latin teachers throughout the country, either in Latin Best PracticesTeaching Latin for Acquisition, or  the Latin Teacher Idea Exchange, students from all years of Latin at SBUSD participate in a Common Task Culture Research Project. The postings here are representative of students ability to remember and understand a definitive element of Roman culture; analyze, evaluate and/or create  a product that is deeply connected to their research; and then synthesize both their experience as well s their research in the style of a Gawker, Buzzfeed, or news style blog. Students are also required to comment on others’ posts, and respond to comments from the Latin student community at large. This assignment in totality takes about three -four weeks depending on the schedule. This is the project outline, rubric for blog, rubric for project, and research interface we used. Please enjoy our students hard work!
